About

I'm Monochrome, a multimedia creative with extensive experience in music production/composition and storytelling.

I started playing the piano at age 5, but quit after 8 years, not realizing that somewhere along the way, I fell in love with it.  In late 2018, I decided on a whim to enroll in a digital music composition course at school.  I fell back in love with music, and quickly sought to make up for all the lost time.  Since then, I've released 30 albums, EPs, and OSTs, with many more in the works.  My influences draw primarily from video games, anime, movies, and Internet culture, and my varied interests have helped me to become a highly versatile artist.  My biggest inspirations are Quadeca, Porter Robinson, LiSA, Camellia, DM DOKURO, Toby Fox, and Koji Kondo, among others.

I've had a measurable influence on a number of music remix projects and collectives - I serve as a music lead on the Elementourney and FilthyFred's Key of Fate multimedia projects.  I'm also a music contributor to VGMegamix, KodamaSounds, and King for Another Day Encore.  I'm looking to take this a step further by getting into video game music composition.

Apart from music, I've done some freelance video editing, primarily for the YouTuber Linklight.  I've made award-winning short films, and I often try and fail to author novels in my free time.  I have a degree in film production and a minor in fiction from Emerson College.

Most, if not all of my work, can be viewed on my YouTube channel, on which I post frequently.  Whether it's a single I made in my free time, a behind-the-scenes vlog of a movie I'm making, or a major album release, you can be sure it'll be there.
